Content Block

A content block is a standalone section that can group fields or components without requiring a multi-column row.

Content blocks are useful for presenting one focused area of a record detail view. They can contain fields, buttons, related records, or other components, but they are usually used when the content should read as one section rather than as part of a grid.

When to Use It

Use a content block when a group of information should stand on its own.

Content blocks are a good fit for technical details, notes, long descriptions, supporting metadata, or any section that should be visually separated without being split into columns.

They are also useful when a section may need to collapse, because users can keep the main screen compact while still having access to the information.

What Can Be Configured

Content

A content block can contain many different kinds of components.

  • Add fields, text, buttons, tables, or other components
  • Give the block a clear section title
  • Decide whether the block should contain one type of information or a mixed set

Collapsing

Content blocks can be collapsible when their contents are not needed all the time.

  • Allow users to collapse or expand the block
  • Decide whether the block starts open or collapsed

Layout and Spacing

Content blocks can be sized to fit their purpose.

  • Limit the maximum width of the block
  • Adjust the title size to match the importance of the section
  • Use the block as a full-width section when the content needs room

Conditional Display

Content blocks can appear only when they are relevant.

  • Hide a block for records where the section does not apply
  • Use conditional sections to avoid showing empty or distracting areas
