Timestamp

A timestamp input lets users choose a date and time.

Timestamp inputs are useful for appointments, event start times, deadlines with exact times, publication moments, logs, and scheduled actions. They are input components, so they read from and save to one field on the record.

When to Use It

Use a timestamp when both the calendar date and the time of day matter.

Timestamps are a good fit for scheduling, audit moments, or workflows where "Friday" is not precise enough. If only the day matters, use Datepicker.

What Can Be Configured

Date and Time Display

The value can be shown in a date format that matches the project. Labels should make clear whether the time refers to a start, end, deadline, publication, or logged event.

Layout

Timestamp fields often need more width than simple dates because both date and time are visible. Related start and end timestamps should be placed near each other.

Conditional Display

The field can be shown only when precise scheduling is relevant, such as for published records, confirmed events, or timed tasks.
